Himigo was born from a simple frustration: too many Latin American immigrants in Canada were going through the same difficult process completely alone. Two immigrants — Julián and Nicolás — decided to do something about it.
Julián brings deep technology expertise. Nicolás brings marketing and community-building skills. Together, they went through every step of the immigration process themselves — the paperwork, the confusion, the loneliness — and channeled those experiences into building an app that does what they wished had existed when they arrived.
What Himigo Offers
The app is built around three core pillars that address the most common challenges new immigrants face:
1. Employment — Himigo posts new job offers every day, tailored to users across Canada. Whether you’re in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver, opportunities are updated regularly to help you find work faster.
2. Community Events — The app lists events where you can meet other Latin immigrants, build friendships, and expand your professional network in a comfortable, culturally familiar environment.
3. Peer Advice — One of Himigo’s most powerful features is its community Q&A format, where you can ask questions and receive answers from people who have already gone through the same experiences. Real answers from real people — no bureaucratic jargon.
5,000+ Latinos and Growing
Since its launch, more than 5,000 Latin immigrants across Canada have registered on the platform. And the word users consistently use to describe it is not “useful” or “convenient” — it is “home.”
You enter Himigo looking for a job. You stay because you find your community.
