The Consulate General of Uruguay in Montreal proudly announces the opening of the “Juana de Ibarbourou” library, a cultural space dedicated to promoting Uruguayan literature among Uruguayans living abroad.
Named after one of Uruguay’s most beloved poets, the library was created to bring adults and children closer to the richness of national literary heritage. Visitors will find works that connect them with their roots, stories that remind them who they are, and pages that invite them to travel beyond borders.
Reading is a bridge that unites generations and strengthens community bonds, and this new space will host countless moments of learning, reflection, and emotion. The Consulate invites the Uruguayan community and all literature lovers to discover this cultural corner and make it a place of encounter, inspiration, and knowledge.
