The Consular Entrepreneurship Program for Mexican Women Abroad (PCEME) is an initiative of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IMME), launched in Phoenix in 2021 with the goal of empowering women of Mexican origin living outside Mexico through financial independence and economic success.
Since its creation, the program has completed five successful editions and graduated more than 2,000 Mexican women around the world. In 2024 alone, 688 women graduated from the fifth edition across 53 cities in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe.
In Montreal, the program began operating in 2022 thanks to the collaboration of the Alliance of Mexican Businesses in Montreal (ACOMM). Since then, 60 Mexican women residing in Quebec have successfully graduated, launching around twenty new businesses in the province.
The program is completely free for participants, and the only requirements are proving Mexican nationality and residency in Quebec or one of Canada’s Atlantic provinces. The next enrollment call for Mexican women will be available on the official website of the Consulate General of Mexico in Montreal.
