With a multidisciplinary background in physics, actuarial sciences, financial risk, and capital markets, Geimy Salamanca brings a rare combination of expertise to her new role as General Director of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Quebec (QUÉTAL).
Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Geimy studied across Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina before emigrating to Canada in 2016. As a single mother navigating language barriers, financial adjustments, and cultural differences, she built her career through determination, patience, and perseverance.
Today, as a financial advisor and educator, she helps Latino families make informed decisions about savings, emergency funds, and diversified financial strategies.
At QUÉTAL, Geimy plans to strengthen alliances, launch commercial and fiscal workshops, and amplify the voices of Latino entrepreneurs and independent workers. Her leadership approach is rooted in leverage — maximizing existing resources to create a greater impact without starting from scratch.
Her message to the Latino community is clear: every dream can be grounded in reality through determination and effort, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow, learn, and transform into a victory.
