Jenny Becerra’s journey is a powerful testimony of faith, resilience, and social commitment. A graduate of the Gran Colombia Beauty Academy in Bogotá, Jenny arrived in Canada in May 2010 with her husband and two children, settling in the Montérégie region.
Determined to succeed in the beauty industry, she enrolled at Collège Pierre-Dupuy to earn a professional diploma in hairstyling, overcoming significant language barriers along the way. After seven years of hard work and training, she established her personal brand in 2017, embracing authenticity and diversity as core values.
In 2022, Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer — an experience that deeply transformed her faith and renewed her sense of purpose. Since then, she has dedicated herself to supporting women undergoing oncological treatments, offering companionship and hope.
In 2024, alongside five fellow entrepreneurs, she co-founded Emprende y Conecta, a business fair that showcases local Latino businesses on the Rive-Sud and provides training in social media and digital tools. Through her church Génesis, Jenny also leads an annual fundraising campaign for Unidos por Gracia, a foundation supporting vulnerable families in Cartagena, Colombia.
Her message to immigrant women and entrepreneurs is one of courage: transform obstacles into steps, uncertainty into strength, and never let fear hold you back.
